Hey Friends,
I hope you all are doing good in this situation. warm welcome to this web Anonymous.
In this further Info. we will see about 3D Printing Technology, Applications, How it works?......
So, let's get started......
Begin from basics.......
What is 3D Printing?
Basically, 3D Printing is a process of making solid objects in three dimensions from digital design Model.
It is also called as Additive Manufacturing
3D printing is mainly depends on the Model, which can be downloaded from 3D Library or use that particular object.
How does the 3D Printing Work?
3D printing's prominent base is 3D software, which have different software tools for creations.
It is necessary to have 3D software, because without it people are not able to print objects.
There are several kind of 3D softwares are available :-
1. Blender
2. SolidWorks
3. Maya
4. Fusion 360
5. BRL-CAD
6. DesignSpark Mechanical
7. Tinkercad
8. FreeCAD
9. OpenSCAD
10. Wings3D
11. 3D Slash
12. SketchUp
13. Mol 3D
14. Rhino 3D
From out of this list, there are countable softwares of 3D printing. This above mentioned 3D softwares are popular in this time.
Some of it have payment system, means you have to purchase. Although, some of it are free of cost. So, you can customize by yourself.
➽ After completing model in 3D software, in next step, it goes to slicing department where it is slicing into hundreds of thousands of layers.
➽ When the file is sliced, it's ready for 3D printing. Upload your file via USB, WI-FI Connection and SD. So, 3D printing machine starts to print layer by layer.
In some super 3D Computers, object made within in time. As well as it's also depends on powerful softwares and constant electricity for machine.
In throughput process, one by one layers are making the object and the number of layer is not small, but it is more than hundreds of thousands. So, they create uncountable layers within in seconds.
Types of 3d Printing technologies and processes
3D printing technology or Additive Manufacturing classify process into 7 categories.
All those 7 categories are mentioned below :-
1. Vat Polymerization
¤ Stereolithography ( SLA )
¤ Digital Light Processing ( DLP )
¤ Continuous Liquid Interface Production (CLIP)
2. Material Jetting
3. Binder Jetting
4. Material Extrusion
¤ Fused Deposition Modeling ( FDM )
¤ Fused Filament Febrication ( FFF )
5. Powder Bed Fusion
¤ Multi Jet Fusion ( MJF )
¤ Selective Laser Sintering ( SLS )
¤ Direct Metal Laser Sintering ( DMLS )
6. Sheet Lamination
7. Directed Energy Deposition
These above mentioned are the steps of the process of 3D printing!
3D Printing Materials
Objects aren't complete untill add materials in the machines. So, basically we have to know about materials.
There are several materials use for 3D printing.
1. Plastics
¤ Naylon or Polyamide is most common plastic material for 3D Printing.
¤ ABS is also used commonly in machines.
¤ PLA is bio-degradable plastic material.
¤ Laywood is specially developed for 3D printing.
2. Metals
¤ Aluminum and Cobalt are common metals, which are used in 3D printing Machines.
¤ Stainless Steel in powder form is strongest and commonly used in it.
¤ Gold and Silver is also in powder form
¤ Titanium is strongest possible material for 3d printing.
3. Ceramics
4. Paper
¤ Standard A4 copy paper
5. Bio Materials
6. Food
¤ Suger, some of 3D printing is also work with it.
3D Printing Applications
In this technical time, everyone is familiar with technology. Even, in every-step people use technology.
3D printing have it's own Applications in most of fields, which is mentioned below :-
1. Aerospace
Aerospace sector has been adopting this technology since many years. Because of 3D printing technology, Space agencies, build their own parts and systems. Before 3d technology, those companies, who provide parts of space technology, become costly and hard to afford it.
Now, 3d printing technology can build own space machines for space agencies. Even, in any emergency they want particular part of space machine, they can easily get through 3D printing technology.
2. Architecture
Architect mostly use this technology as same as AR ( Augmented Reality ). Artchitecture use this technology to build their featured model of building and make more attractive through it. Even, in this field they make vacancy for 3D Printing officer.
This tech becomes easy for Architect to maintain. Because, they know about CAD, 3D models and fundamentals. So, easily they can create it. GE saves $3 Million per spacecraft by 3D printing the fuel nozzles.
3. Automobile
Automotive becomes best example of 3D printing technology. It is the earliest incarnation of this technology. Through this technology, they make their car parts more effective and accurate. In F1 race, most of parts made by this 3D printing technology.
Some of companies are looking for adopting this technology. With the help of 3D technology, they can save enormous money. Before, it companies had to buy various parts and engines in vast amount of money.
4. Healthcare
3D printing have major affect on Healthcare departments. In accident or any how, people lost their body parts and it becomes hard to replacement financially, because it is more costlier than people think. But, due to invention of 3D Printing people can afford it easily.
In the last decade, more than 100,000 hip replacement have been 3D printed by GE. Even, it becomes common to have hearing issue. So, to minimize it, doctors developed hearing aid through 3D printing.
5. Education
This department have uncountable benefits of having 3d printing technology. Many students, won't able to understand any concept, but by this technology mentors can design it and teaches easily.
Many students don't have models to learn, but due to this technology, they can get any models they want. Even, they can materialize their idea through this.
6. Consumer Products
In this section, almost all products adopt this tech. In Footware, jewelery, Eyewear and so on.... In Footware, Adidas company, which have high values is also followed this technology. In 2018, they have printed more than 100,000 midsole.
Jewelry is also depend on this, jewelers mainly use this technology for manufacturing and making patterns. Through this, they design eye-catching patterns and attract people to buy it.
There are also many types of applications except above mentioned. It all have majority use of 3D printing.
